tsp 366 stroker? anybody have any exp with this? any numbers...would it be a dependable motor..will an offset ground crank cause any problems?
thanks for any opinions...kind of a newbie at the whole building a new short block thing and trying to spend my money wisely...

an offset crank does not cause any problems if ground correctly. i got mine done locally and have several thousand miles on my motor already and plenty of 1/4 mile runs. Nascar uses even a smaller rod journal then that. just remember you will need custom pistons because no one is going to have anything like that on the shelf.

Yeah, the "budget" price of the offset cranks isn't as good as in the past with the Eagle and Callies kits out now. At first Lunati had the only show for stroker cranks and the price reflected it. Now Callies, Eagle, and a couple other companies are making the 3.90 and 4.00" 4340 polished cranks for around $1000, complete 382/383 kits for $2000. Much more reasonable than $4K for the Lunati stuff, although Lunati probably has the best quality of the bunch. "Chevy Rumble" did an article a few months back on budget LS1 builds using Hank The Crank ( HTC ) offset ground products. The gains were incredible until I looked at the compression ratio, it was like 12:1! No wonder they put up 400+ HP dyno runs.
