Iron Ls1 Piston rod combo question

Iron Ls1 Piston rod combo question Looking at pistons and rods for my build and if i use a 6.100 eagle rod with a 1.314 piston ch it will put me at zero deck. What im wondering is on the 1.314 piston (manley/mahle pistons) they specify a 6.125 rod and that'll leave me .025 out of the hole. Can i use the 6.100 rod on the those pistons even though they specify otherwise?

DO The Math YOUR statement, 6.1 rod/6.125 piston IS the piston WILL be .025" down, lower, not good for quench.
I would try to find a Fel-Pro MLS "thin" head gasket.
We sell our H Beam forged rod (Callies factory, Scat factory) with ARP bolts, USA honed "big end".
They are "on sale" now for the rest of this year, the price is good, including free shipping.
We sell Race Tec brand pistons @ shelf price allowing a change in custom bore specification AND Comp Distance at no extra cost.
This piston will come with NPR steel rings, not Moly top.
Ask for the sale price.

If you have measured and get zero deck with those pistons and a 6.1" rod, then use them. The same piston that states it is specifically for a 4" stroke and 6.125" rod will work with a 3.75" stroke and a 6.25" rod. They simply specify common combinations.
If you have done the correct measurements for your exact set up and know that you will get zero deck with the rods you want to use, then have at it.

6.1+(3.622/2)+1.314=9.225
9.24-9.225=0.015 (in the hole)
6.125+(3.622/2)+1.314=9.25
9.24-9.250=-0.010 (out of the hole)
This is assuming you have standard 9.240" deck height
Your calculation for 0 deck with the 6.1 or -0.025 deck with the 6.125 would imply that your block has been decked 0.015. Have you done this?
If you have stock block deck height, I would recommend the 6.125 rod that puts the piston .010 out of the hole. This will allow you to change head gasket thickness to achieve desired quench. With the 6.100 rod that puts the piston in the hole, no matter how thin a gasket you run the quench will likely always be undesirable and it will leave valuable compression on the table for no good reason.
9.24-9.225=0.015 (in the hole)
6.125+(3.622/2)+1.314=9.25
9.24-9.250=-0.010 (out of the hole)

I think my question was taken the wrong way. Was simply asking if i can interchange rods. Doing alot more reading im understanding rod ratios more. I have been considering using pistons designed for a 4" stroke and using a 6.3 rod. Higher rod ratio should give me better mid to high range power, this is a high comp 11.5 motor. Thoughts?
