Default Milling 243 heads, should I mill on the intake side also?

I have a lq4 with a Tsunami V2 cam 235/240 .629"/.615" and I am going to use the stock 243 heads. I measured the PTV clearance and i have .183" with the head gasket. I am thinking about milling .060". In order to fit the intake on, should I have the intake side milled also? if i should, how much, .060? Im sure the intake will bolt on with egging the hole on the intake without milling the intake side, but how about the intake port matching to the heads.

Are you sure about those numbers? Mine with .010 milled heads and a 228/232 cam only had .120/.100 clearance to which I removed another .030 off the head for final assembly. Your ptv sounds way higher then I would expect. When AI cut the .030 off the heads they did square the intake side for proper sealing.

I going to do couple more passes measuring the ptv this weekend to double check. is your engine a LQ4 6.0? dish piston? Im using the weaker springs and when tighten down the rockers, zero backlash.

I'm sorry yeah I'm using flat tops, the dish may be aiding you in some ptv.

I would ask Tony but when I went with the thinner gasket I did not have to mill the intake. The math would not be 1:1 since the intake is on an angle to the deck.

Unless you have pistons with valve reliefs, I think your piston-to-valve clearance measurements are incorrect. What process are you using to measure?

Also, the Intake dowels if equipped may need to be removed.

.060 sounds like a load of milling on 243s. You sure about this?

I milled my heads .042 and had to remove material from the side of my holley intake to get it to sit flush between the heads.
