Default What is this I found on my oil drain plug?

Was doing the last couple things before tomorrow's race and during my oil change, this was on the drain plug. Looking for thoughts as to what it might be. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a rivet head. Valve cover or valley cover baffle most likely. Stock engine or aftermarket stuff? Could be a roller rocker tip axle end also.

This is a lifter I had laying around. The piece is the same diameter. Think I may have dodged a bullet.

Motor is a 418" with ctsv lifters.

Here is a brand new ctsv lifter I am putting in a different motor. The plug does not have a dimple on the exterior.

There is a taper on my piece and I think the dimple would have to be on the outsideast for the taper to make sense.

Valve covers were stripped of babbles years ago. But looking at a stock valve cover, the baffle rivets have a split down the center.

I have an ls6 Valley cover, but I am almost certain that baffle is bolted in. We cut the stock pcv breather off a few years back, drilled the hole out and put a -12an fitting in its place for the vacuum pump. The baffle got put back in. Only way that could have happened is if the baffle bolts in from the factory as we did not need to drill and tap the cover.

I am at a loss still.

Can't see it being from a rocker or pushrod. Stock rocker with a comp cams trunion. 1 piece push rods and they are hollow.

Obviously it's not from the cam galley barbell.

Has an ls2 timing set, but I can't think of anything there.

Something from the Meling oil pump?
something from the oil filter?
Are there any internal plugs or locators on an ls3 block I am not thinking of?

I want to try and think of all angles before I pull it out and tear it completely apart.
