Hi So I am looking into building another engine for my 93 rx7, anyways I have a ls3 bare block and crank but needs everything else and has a bad lifter bore so it needs a lot of machine work. I have some turbo ls1 je pistons with eagle h beam rods that have 1k on them, anyways I am thinking of buying a ls1 block and using the rods and pistons and building a turbo motor since I have turbo pistons, I am basically stuck on ls1 or ls3 as I have parts to go both ways, I want to make 650-700 whp and was wondering if a ls1 or ls6 will do that? Also will a ls3 crank work in a ls1?

I wouldn't use an ls1 block for boost.

 

What would you recommend?

 

5.3 iron truck block

 

I really wanted to stay away from the iron block because of the extra weight up front

 

Then use a 5.3 aluminum block. They have much thicker sleeves and will handle tons of boost.
