Default Ls2 with ls3 top end, ptv clearance

im sure you guys have seen this numerous times but I can't get a good answer. Ive got an ls2 along with ls3 heads (0821 cast heads), I'm having a hard time finding out what the max cam lift is without having to fly cut the pistons. Heads are not milled or anything but I will be installing dual valve springs for the cam. Thanks any info is appreciated.

Lift has zero bearing on PTV. It's duration. At TDC, depending on duration, valves are closed or nearly closed. At peak lift, you're at 106-120 degrees past TDC, which means the piston is an inch and a half away from the valves at least.

You can have a 250/260-110 cam with .500 lift that'll have PTV contact. You can have a 210/220-120 cam with .800 lift that'll clear with room to spare

So don't worry about lift, only duration?

What LSA? Tighter LSA means more cause for concern. If your LSA is 112 or higher you're probably fine.

Exactly. But make sure you use a solid lifter so it does not collapse from the clay and give a false large reading
