Default Low Lift Cams, which one?

Looking at doing a budget friendly cam swap on a LQ4, (maybe) with 799 heads. This will be a daily driver, I would like to use LS6 springs, hints low lift, so I was looking at TSP, for a $425, or the TF for $287. I worry about the quality of the TF for the price, are there other cams to look at?

Thanks.

Lots of them! Just for starters check TSP and Cam Motion's websites. Cam Motion, for example, has engine-specific cam categories to narrow down the choices. There are of course many other vendors, but these two have probably the widest array of choices for LS-based engines. Plus, they grind their own and have strict quality control.

BTR has some cams designed to be used with the LS6 Valve springs. Their Truck Stage 3 218/224 .553/.553 113+3 cam would be great for a daily 6.0. They also have Cam kits with LS6 Springs and Valve Seals included.

All vendors make a low lift cam... remember the lift isn't important as the duration when selecting a cam.

Howards version of the GM hot cam is another good one.
219/228 .525 lift @ 112.

So is the 2215 Edelbrock. It's on a tighter 111 LSA at 220/220 and only .510 lift. It will thump pretty good.

It was pretty rowdy in my 4.8. Would be less so in a 6.0.

Our low lift cams are 419.99 including the ls6 springs. Here is a dyno of our 216/220 .550/.550 112lsa in a 5.3. It will be pretty mild in a 6.0 but overall make more power.

We didn't dyno it in an lq4 but it would work just fine. Knowing we didn't lose any low rpm torque in the 5.3, I'd imagine it picks up in the lq4. It would also work with the stock stall. There wouldn't be much if any real sound change though. It's just not large enough to give you much sound in a 364. If you wanted the really choppy sound, you would have to go bigger, but if you wanted something that makes a near stock driver and picks up across the board it would be perfect.

That's what I needed to hear. I couldn't care less about the sound, I just want the truck to pick up usable power and work well with the stock stall. I already have the ls6 springs. How much is cam by itself?
