Default oil pan leak question.

Got my engine together and in the car. Runs great but the only problem is, not thinking, I didn't use any sealant on the corners of the oil pan and now the pan is leaking right on the passenger rear corner. I can see where it is wet where the corner of the rear cover meets the pan, and it's also coming out of the long bolt hole. Question is, can I just take the pan bolts out, jack the engine up a little and hit those rear corners with sealant? Will it work that way? I've never messed with the oil pan while in the car and it's a brand new pan gasket.

The gasket is fine to reuse but you need to clean all services of the gasket, block, and pan. So you might have to drop the pan a bit to get in there.

Cool. The engine has literally like 5-10 min of idle time on it. That's it.

1 sec or 10 minutes, RTV will not stick to an oily surface.
I would rather go through the hassle of doing it right 1 time than trying to bandaid it
20 times. My .02 good luck

Its for sure coming from the rear corner of the oil pan. I can see wetness in the crack. I have a TH350 which is wide open at the bottom so I can see up at the rear main (which is brand new) and its bone dry, and so is the cover right beneath it. I'll just support the engine with the hoist and drop the Kmember down a little. Should be only a couple hour job. It just sucks to have a leak on a freshly build engine LOL.
