Default ARP LS1 Torque Specifications

Hi guys new to the board. I picked up a 67 Firebird and two times after i drove it the motor the started knocking. So for the last year i have been saving up and browsing this board for info on swapping in an LS.

Finally got the engine out of a 98 Vette and am doing the swap. To avoid any issues i am doing a mild rebuild on the motor so i can drive the car more than twice....lol.

So i have been ordering everything over the past year for the engine which would be metal head gaskets, oil pump, went with a COMP Thumpr cam and im doing a carb setup. Just for the added security i went with ARP Head studs, ARP Main Studs, and ARP Connecting Rod Bolts.

NOW MY QUESTION:

So i now have everything that i need and i had the block refreshed at my local engine shop and i am assembling it. Upon looking at the ARP instruction website i see that there are two different set of main studs for the LS1 engines. One set 134-5802 for Aluminum blocks and one set 234-5608 for Iron block engines.

When i ordered the ones for my aluminum 5.7 LS1 i got the 234-5608 which is listed as the iron block version. I threaded the studs in and everything lines up my question is which torque specs should i follow????? The torque specs for the 134-5802 since my block is aluminum or the 234-5608 because i have those bolts???

You got the correct kit, so follow the instructions for the 234-5608 kit. The 134-5802 is for the warhawk block and is 7/16" diameter.
