What do you guys mean a knock on the run? Should I go through and put new plugs in and see what it does? Also the tuner did not delete knock sensor codes like he was supposed to, could that be pulling timing or fuel?

what do YOU mean delete knock sensor codes? There shouldn't be any codes unless you have bad sensors which will pull timing. We were asking if the tuner saw any spark knock/detonation during the dyno pull. You could do plugs and wires if theyre old but I would have expected the tuner to have some clue to start troubleshooting if the graph looked like that.

Well I thought that they deleted knock sensors out of the computer so I won't have any problems with them. I have one bad sensor but I never worried about it. My tuner never said anything about it knocking or anything like that to me. I'm 17 years old and I feel like he did I half add job because I was young.

Unfortunately I do not have someone with any tuning software. Closest I can get is live data from a scanner. I do have the check engine light on for knock sensors. I also got code p0102 for the mass air which I have never had before. The code for the knock sensor is p0327

This was supposed to be a final tune. He ran it on the dyno we went out and drove maybe a mile and I paid and we left. I am gonna go back to him on Monday for him to look at the codes but I kind of want some info and facts I can use to prove to him that he did a sloppy tune. So we can try to work something out.

It's tough to know the extend of how crappy of a tune it was without seeing it, but the curve doesn't look right, the knock sensor thing needs to be understood and sorted out, why is the car in open loop as its definitely up to operating temperature. Any chance you can get those same pictures during wide open throttle with a buddy or something?

That open loop tune tho lol. I agree the curve looks funny. It should be smooth all the way across. Something is up somewhere. This is a dyno of my 239k mile 5.3 that I tuned. Smooth as can be.

I doubt it. You can try and tell him that youd like to learn a little bit and ask that he email you a copy of the tune file so you can check it out with the free software since hp tuners and efilive both let you look at tunes for free. Make sure you ask AFTER he makes any changes in case he gets defensive. My guess is he doesn't give you anything. Clear sign of a crap tuner. Other sign is if he locks the tune so nobody can see or edit it.
