Inputs... new valves on unknown use 243 heads?

Default Inputs... new valves on unknown use 243 heads?

Here is my delima... I have a set of 243 heads that came off of an unknown mileage truck. They heads are literally pull off heads... they even have rockers and spark plugs still on them.

so.. should I get new valves when I have the heads worked?

Stock, Manley, Comp Cams, another vendor?

What is the benefit of aftermarket stainless steel valves over stock stainless steel valves?

The main advantage of aftermarket valves is the ability to use a larger diameter. I prefer to use Ferrea or Manley, but REV's are another good option as well.

Is there any airflow benefit from aftermarket valves? I'm going to stick with stock valve size unless I get head work that comes with larger valves.

Since I don't know the exact specs of my cam, I'm hesitant to do anything that changes the PtV. I know the cam is in the 230-235 duration.

Not really, at least not anything that you can't duplicate on a stock valve with backcuts etc.

Thanks. Hopefully the valves are ok and don't need to be replaced, or the stage 2.5 will clear a 235/235 cam.
