Default damaged crankshaft

I have brought an 5.3 ls i knew it was damaged but on the crankshaft the reluctor ring had some damaged teeth and plus how can i select the right crank shaft to replace it with

Any help will be a big help

If ONLY the reluctor ring is damaged it can be replaced. A machine shop job, though....

5.3 cranks are $100-200 max. You may want to look for a replacement. Thats a lot of work to get the ring off a few degrees.

To get the old one off, use a bottle of MAP gas if you don't have access to an acetylene torch, heat it up until you see some red then tap it off with a brass hammer. Then you need the Goodson reluctor indexing tool to install another.
