Default Is this cam too big?

Would a 229/233 .590/.580 114LSA cam be too big for an A4 LS1. This will be used in conjunction with cartek stage II heads and a 150 shot?

That cam seems small compared to some of the new cams tuners are coming out with and claiming good drivability. However, I would personally go with something smaller for a daily driven vehicle. Try and find a good running A4 that has a similar set up to what you are planning, if you like the idle and driveability, I'd go with a similar cam.

Yes.
No.

It depends.

The biggest issues with the big cams are:
1- Will want to idle at like 950
2- Might need to feather the gas when you start the car and might not be able to drive it for a few minutes while it warms up.

That cam should idle okay since it's on a 114 LSA. I ran a 242/242/114 in the old 422ci and it idled pretty good. I also ran a 236/240/111 about three years ago in the 346ci that needed a few minutes before I could drive it.

My 244/244/112 in the 422ci was my last cam in there and it needed a few minutes to warm up and it would surge on cold start and we tuned the heck out of it too.
