This Head Repairable?
Sadly last fall my stock ls1 bottom end decided to give up the ghost at the track. I had a piston that wanted out and it left quite a path of destruction...
Curious if we thought this head was repairable? Is there any value to a single good head
Thanks!
243/799 heads are easy to get.
However, for about $400 you can get a set of much better 243/799's.
For about $1200 you can get a good set of used ported 243/799's.
Honestly , I'd upgrade heads.

it will be a chunk of change to fix it.
both seats have to come out. dye pen for cracks. then weld it and hand blend it. then recut for seats and then spend considerable time cutting the new valves and seats to a similar tip height.
it's a fair bit of work, but 100% doable by the right shop. If you were local to me I could send you to a place that does this and only this.
I bought the heads so I know there edebrock. They feed my stock bottom ls1 to an 11.0 all motor so pretty happy with them.
