It is not expensive to balance, and normally a good idea anyway.

What do I need in order to go dbw? I know I'll need the throttle body, pedal and controller. What ecm and harness should I look for? I'm assuming I can get a psi harness, but is there a factory harness I can use? I'd like to try to find an ecm and possibly harness local that would work. What cars/trucks would they come out of?

Get an 0411 (last 4 numbers) computer. itll work with drive by wire or cable. that is what an ls pcm that you are looking for looks like. its best to get it all from the same salvage truck tho.

Well... I got my LQ4 striped down. Looked pretty good inside. No lip in the cylinders and some of the cross hatch was still visible. Sending it to the machine shop tomorrow.

Looking to have the block bored and hot tanked, the mains line honed and the cam bearings pressed in. I'll have them check and likely polish the crank. Anything else I should have them do? I didn't see any press in freeze plugs. There was a plug behind the timing cover. Not sure if it should be replaced. I'm replacing the pistons and rods.

Once i get my crank checked and bearing sizes I'm going to start ordering parts.

Im going to use my L92 heads with flat tops and the ASA cam. Should I have them surfaced some for compression our will they be ok?
