I have found a 5.3 LM7 for sale and the only thing the guy selling says was wrong with it when it was pulled was that it was over heating. the price is only $150 so would it be worth it to purchase and build up or do you guys think its a lost cause from the over heating. I don't have any details about it other than what I've said. I would like to think it would be a good starting point but not sure.

$150 is a pretty average price for a core 4.8/5.3L short block. At that price point, you're likely taking a chance no matter what.

Looking at the picture it has everything except the coil packs and wiring harness.

Well if it doesn't look melted and you plan to build it up anyway, it seems like it would be worth a shot.

It doesn't look melted for sure. It could be a good candidate for a stroker build!
