Well I did say At Least, I didn't want to over estimate. I can see with the right cam he can come close to 500 at the crank.

What engine did you test your hot cam in? Was it pretty much stock? That would be some good numbers in a 5.3

I may have to look into this cam, it made some good power. What was the peak rpm for Hp/Tq?

Default Harness and ECU

Oh I forgot to ask, I'm also going to need a harness. Probably like a plug and play one that's built with a good ECU for tuning.
Or should I just get another harness for the LM7 and splice it to the G35 harness?

Thanks. So when I go in for a resurface and honing, what else should I get done there? Heads? Etc? And will they disassemble and reassemble for me?

Any competent machine shop can do all of that.

Great, so as long as I buy everything before I go in it should be fine? And how much do you think all of it would cost? (Disassemble/resurface/honing/rebore/assemble) anything else should I get while I'm there too?

Ive quoted basically an entirely new engine inside. Nothing overlooked besides pickup tube.

It would be roughly $600-900 for disassembly, machine, install cam bearings, and assemble. Thats why my local shop would charge.

Okay, so with all the new parts and everything done at the shop, it should cost around in total?

That range would be $1300-1600 roughly. unless you need more machine work like rod hone or crank polishing.

Head work is sep but not expensive. Like others said a set of 243 heads would be the best to use. You can find em used on here from 400-600 for the pair, have em taken to machine shop and disassembled, clean, valve job, and reassemble with new seals and springs. OR we have new castings that would cost you 950 shipped already machined and assembled with springs for the pair.

So $400-600 for new ones, and what would be the price for the machine shop? Would it be cheaper then just getting new ones? I guess it depends on how much I get the used ones

Wow! Thank you! That took a bit of research, and it looks comprehensive!

Ya its some good info. I made a list at my shop of all Engines (Gen2 LT, Gen3 LS, Gen4 LS, and Gen5 LT) that has the years and vehicles they were in (U.S. Only), power output between years, bore/stroke, heads used (Casting numbers), Block I.D Tags, RPM of peak power and torque, Max rpm, Block and Head Material and so on. Took me some time to find all the info

I need to make a List of all Gen1 Small/Big Blocks but there are so many different engines and different variations used in different vehicles that it will take a good amount of research.

LOL Gen I stuff could fill a dictionary-sized book! Though I guess it could be done. GM did the biggest mix-and-match of parts ever with the good ol' smallblock! From the 283 and 327 came the 302 and 307 by swapping crankshafts(to oversimplify): A long-stroke smaller bore 307 for good low end for grocery getters and the short stroke bigger bore 302 to scream in the Z28. Genius! Interesting stuff for sure! Best to ya!

It will not be fun doing the research, one of these days I will get to it....whenever I have 16 hours to dedicate to it lol.
