243 Heads how much metarial removed? Hi there ppl how to measure a 243 head surface?I gaved the heads to a shop for resurfacing the heads for gm mls gasket.I just try to figure out how much metarial removed.I need the stock lenght.

depending on what exactly you intend to do with the information once you get it your best bet might be to have the chambers measured for CC instead of worrying about how much was shaved

Use those calipers We see alot of variation come into the shop but we use calipers to measure the distance from the deck surface to the exahust side bolt boss. Untouched 243 heads come in @1.620" to 1.625". Hope this helps.
