Default Ls1 Crank plug

In the correct p/n 24502262. Comes up as a water pump plug.

That is the right pn. It is used in a few v6 engines also. Most auto manuf use parts that are universal for other engines to save on prod costs.

•Check the crankshaft rear oil gallery plug is not loose, damaged or leaking.
•If necessary, coat the new oil gallery plug (1) with Loctite™ 242 or equivalent.





•Install the new oil gallery plug to a depth of 31.2-31.6 mm (1.22-1.24 in).

It's just the picture ID in the manual so don't worry about it.. I removed them to avoid confusion. Your part number is correct: GM part # 24502262

Also remember that the pilot bearing has 2 sides and the chamfered side of the bearing faces the transmission.

I would think the chamfer would face the engine for ease of installation and the trans shaft is chamfered so its easy to install into the bearing.

The chamfer which is more like a radius is only on the ID not OD.
