Jimmy
but for no stall those tq numbers are very high!
now if you had a 3600 or so stall those tq numbers would be right on
so why so much torque?
i do have an aftermarket torque convertor, i bought my car used and some of my stuff came with it already so i am trying to figure out what i have
thanks for the replies
thanks jimmy for the link to my site

slap a 3600+ in her then she would put down some awesome numbers!
its just that guys with heads/cam and high stalls only see 399-415tq and thats why I was questioning if it was a spike
i'd be happy with 400tq with my 224/224 and 3600stall car

so why so much torque?
thanks for your replies

As stated above, the converter was not locked.
Bad news:
converter was not locked. That is the classic unlocked dyno curve.
Good news:
336 HP unlocked with your mods is a good result. With some good long tubes headers you'll be over 350 hp.
Alternatively, you can continue to believe the converter was locked, making you the first cam only LS1 without both longtube headers and an LS6 intake to make 399 ft-lbs of torque and that your tuning is totally f**ked and that is why your HP is so low.
i thought that unlocking the convertor is a dyno trick, causing like a couple of extra hp
i am going to go back and ask them again and ask them why my torque is so high, i am curious and thats what they told me and they did the dyno
if someone can explain the difference between unlock and locked, i did try a search
thanks for the replies
Unlocked is like when you take off from a light and the converter is slipping into a higher rpm. The PCM automatically unlocks the converter at WOT. This allows the car to get to the higher rpm band for more power and eliminates a lot stress that would be applied to be the lock-up clutch if the converter didn't unlock.
The only way you dynoed locked was if:
1) your PCM had been changed to do this (In Edit, I use different shift points and lock-up settings when I dyno) or
2) they had a Tech II or similar device to override the computer during the dyno session, or
3) you have installed a manual lock-up switch and they used that.
i am going to ask what exactly did becuase i am curious,,, they did tell me that they were not going to do any dyno tricks. i may of misunderstood about how to dyno an automatic, this was first ever dyno for my car and me.
is it becuase i have a torque convertor? and that increases the torque on a dyno because it doesn't know better
thanks for all the replies
