Gap in sleeves of LS1

Hello all,

I have 98 LS1 block that seems to have some really small gaps in-between the piston sleeves and the block. Has anyone ever seen this? I was cleaning the gasket surfaces and noticed it on the these two spots the worst. It has these gaps in other places but not as bad. They aren't frightening large but I have never seen this before. I do understand this is probably the worst LS block you can have but it was free so I can't argue with that. Just FYI, It spun a rod bearing and was pulled, then given to me by my friend. The plan was to dingle ball hone it, put new rings on stock pistons, send it.
I appreciate the help before hand.

I ran into this issue and it is not a big deal. The local machine shop (who is a strong presence in the racing world) said it was common and nothing to worry about. I've put >20k on my motor and have had no issues.

It's more of a void. The blocks are actually cast around the cylinders on these engines. there Not like a replacement sleeve that is straight. These actually have a ribbed design to hold them in place when casting the block so they don't pop out during the cooling process.

As mentioned, it's nothing to worry about on these.
