Default low coolant light, plenty of coolant (on dipstick)

Should I just put more water in? I don't want it running all over w/ an overfill. It's above the full hot on the dipstick.

Haven't had the motor apart or done a refill. The dipstick was coated with gunk, but not oil.

Never hit it w/ nitrous or anything.

first is your car still under warranty?because it is probably the sensor for your coolant level has gone bad it happened to my 98 ss at about 20k. that junk is from your dexacrap coolant.maybe now is a good time for a coolant flush as well. good luck <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

If it's full, don't add anything. This is a common problem on cars with the sensor (it was deleted on later year cars just for this reason). Remove the sensor and clean it. If that don't work, it's probably bad..

I guess it's in the overflow tank?

I had the same problem, it's a bad sensor. Take it in and have it replaced, that's what I did, but mine was under warranty.
