Take your money and get a cam, springs, retainers, pushrods and a tune. Whe n you do heads later on you should be able to have the tune up graded for little or no money depending on your tuner.

I do not see an ls6 intake in your sig. This would definately be something else you would want to remedy.

I think you will notice much more by doing cam only than heads only. Especially the heads you have chosen.

Do it all at once. You'll be glad you waited. I know I am.

BTW, I wanted to point out that you said "tit retainers"...

Your doing it backwards if you plan to do both. If you doing the work you can disregard the labor cost which can be considerable for those who don't turn wrenches. Major head work is more costly than an aftermarket cam which is why many people do their cams first. Besides, the cam is less work since the heads or intake don't have to come off for the cam swap. Work some OVERTIME to make the extra money and do BOTH cam and heads at the same time.

no im doing heads and cam, its $800 for the cam package, i figure an extra $500 will get me heads too, why waste my money. im planning on a ls6 intake as well, its just the order i want to install it, i do all my work myself, i have an air compressor, i just dont have a lot of garage time and would like to split it up, plus the extra $360 for cam and $500 for tune will take a month or more to come up, so through that time id rather be ready with the heads and springs and all that for the cam when i get enough money. so what im asking is their any downsides to running just heads, anyone know what kinda numbers i will have? thanks.
