408 build questions
I have a lq4 sitting on a stand and am planning on building it to a 408. I have a line on a set of LS3 heads (821s) and will probably just be going with the stock head for now, as I’m on a budget. My thinking is to building bulletproof bottom end and then get a well matched cam for these heads. My first question is, will the stock heads flow enough for me to make 450+ to the wheels (and more importantly have a street monster of a car) with a well matched cam? would it be smarter/more efficient to keep the stock stroke and just punch it .030 over and call it a day?
Also, how safe is it to take these blocks to .060 over?
