Default How worried should I be?

So I have a 06 5.3 in my 03 gmc. Nothing fancy just cam and headers and cai. I changed my oil last week and used a brand new oil drain pan. Looking in it after I dumped the old oil out I found some metal. Drove it about 250 miles and did some lite autocross (had an eye on pressure gauge and it never moved in corners or anything). Figured I would change it again and take a look. Found metal in oil again. I still have ~38 psi hot idle and ~42 cold idle (550 rpm). When I first put this motor it it maybe had 2-4 psi more at idle. It does not make any noise at all. This is only the 3rd or 4th oil change on this motor. Changed it when I put it in. Then after tuning, then befor the trip and after the trip. I only have about 2800 miles on the motor. Bought it with 118xxx I’m told. Truck it was out of was rolled when the trailer it was on flipped. The doner truck was being towed to a shop cause it would not run. It has been pretty good. The Pos place that tuned my last motor had shift points set at 7500 rpm (pretty sure that’s what killed my last trans). So the motor has hit that a few time before I got hptuners and found that. Set max rpm to 6100 now. So should I park it or is this kind of normal?

If that was your first oil change on that engine, some metal is to be expected as bearings get worn in a bit and any rough edges get scuffed off.

Default Oil Filter Inspection

Hi, could you cut open your oil filter and give that report here at LS1Tech ?

If pressures are still good and no noises then I would just monitor closely and keep changing conventional oil every 3000. All my LS engines since 99 have been Mobil 1 and I go 10-12,000 with no issues

I use valvoline high mileage syn blend 10/30 and wix filter. Cut open the filter this morning and found just about no metal in the filter media. Did find black tiny chunks of stuff. I would guess carbon or something.
