What was wrong with the reluctor ring...?

Ah, my apologies, I reread a few posts again, glad it was something simple.

( over the years I've run into several defective new crank sensors )

I'm having the exact same issue but I just replaced my crank position sensor on my 24x LQ4 too... still won't start.

mine wouldn't even crank up! Haha

how's your MAF? Unplug to see if it makes a difference

has are your spark plugs and wires?

are there any mods done to your engine? Could be a tuning issue

Hopefully some geniuses on this website can help you out!

Yep a few mods done to my LQ4. I have a Tick Performance cam (222/234 .610/.595 113 lsa, Dual .660" spring kit), an SLP polished intake, Nick Williams 102mm DBW polished throttle body, stock bottom end, T-link for the DBW setup and throttle body, brand new Accel 9000 ceramic boot wires, brand new plugs, brand new fuel injectors in all 8 cylinders, VATS is turned off in the tune and we have it setup to default to speed density if the MAF isn't working but i'm not getting ANY codes on from the computer.... It's pissing me off. I made a long post just above yours in this forum hoping that the LS gods can help! lol
