Default Torque Question

I was just reading an old post in the dyno section of this site(post your stock dyno numbers ) and saw that most of the ppl torque was at 320ish stock. Mines with mods are 320 torque/ 343 hp. And most of them had higher torque numbers than hp numbers.Would a too free flowing exhaust cause low torque numbers and why???The car is a 98 vet with Kook's 1 3/4 headers full length but stock from the headers on back. Really need some
help on figuring this out!!!??

PS - My stock Camaro put out 321rwtq, but only 312rwhp. Is there a chance you are misinterpreting the dyno curve?

Look at the graph using Runviewer. Hit CTRL PRTSCN to do a screen capture (I think), then PASTE in Paint. Save As JPG, then upload to your fav hosting co.

Headers are NOT suppose to lose peak TQ, maybe some TQ under the peak, but not up at 4500. It should gain. So should that cam. You are running about stock RWTQ.

What RPM is your TQ peak?

"343 hp/320 torque @6200 rpm"

what does that mean?? what was at 6200??
considering all ur mods, ur numbers should be way higher, more like 375/365

You need to AutoTap your dyno runs. My guess is timing is being killed from 4000-5000. Possibly IAT issues or KR.

Before headers, we dyno'd 375hp/371tq. Other Z owners were stunned as they would go 375hp/355tq with the same mods. Difference? Tuning.
