head an cam suggestions for ls1
Our kits are 100% complete when you purchase from us. Every gasket, bolt, coupler will be there. No searching the net for the parts not included in the kit.
With so many options out there the only thing to limit you is budget really. Also the parts in the kits i mention are ready to ship so you dont have to wait weeks for your parts. If youre like the rest of us, waiting is ok but you'd rather have your parts asap so you can fawn over them until you start your project.

(Manual #s) with what most would consider a street friendly cam, let alone
Enough airflow for 530+ in a 408" or larger.
The TFS 245 is a great head, NOT fitting a 3.90" Bore!/current Engine.
The OP Wanted a head that would provide excellent results NOW,
and with a 408" potentially down the road.
I stand by my recommendation.
98CamaroPower, check out some of the Tony Mamo threads
Specifically re Customer service both Before & After the Sale,
and the the help he provides with i.e. PR Length, RR wipe
pattern etc., etc... DarthV8R would be a great one to start with.

Tha hawks package is very popular and makes over 450 dyno proven also on many different setups. It is lacking a few pieces which we make up for and have a better price point on as well as a better designed cam. All those parts are available next week not a month+ from now. Would that be what your "NOW" means? Thats all out of box stuff also for the most part. With extra hand work and porting those parts would shine even more. The tfs220s would give him plenty of room to grow in the future also with cnc or hand work from any of a dozen companies out there.
He doesn't even need a 102 to make mid 400s happen really. People have done it with fast92s as well. That would cut down on cost even more while still providing a quality product and the power to compete with other more expensive packages.

However my cousins SS that was a LS1 stick car with a 8.8 and a cage, no ac and tubular front suspension with a MS3 and hand ported heads with a FAST intake ran 7.1 -7.3 with 1.55 60 ft times.. so an auto that's lighter, that spent less time shifting gears, with much better heads and a 10 bolt should go a couple tenths faster if not 4 or so, It did. So breaking it down that way I can see why the car was capable of doing what it did. But it's not often you see that simple of a combo ET that low.
Your car is right on par with most well running cammed cars/some heads cam cars.
It's all in the combo. I beat up on donkey dick cam cars with my no cam car several times and it was a full weight bolt on stalled auto.
I have nothing to prove it or numbers, but I feel like that FAST 92 in combo with the as cast 220's were making some magic happen, in other words, may have been better than the 102
