The advantage to the bigger cubes is that you can run a more aggressive top end and still have good drivability.

What is your power with that 370? That's a good middle ground as far as cost goes IMO

Last dyno I was on was super stingy and it made 415 n/a. Realistically I'm more like 450 or so. At a raceweight of about 3850 lbs I trapped 121 (actually 120.9 so I just say 121 lol) so it's making good power. On the 150 shot it's probably around 600

That's good mph n/a. I trapped a 120 when I had a 227/234 cam in my ls1 with a 75 shot. Found out later I was running out of fuel so it might have been better if properly fed.

I'm going to contact the machine shop and price out what it would take to build a 370.

Yeah on a 75 shot i'm sure you had a little more in it. Whichever way you decide to go I'd do a forged setup. Just makes sense at this point

Well, dropped off the 6.0 shortblock to be disassembled, cleaned, checked. Hopefully it all checks out and I can use it.

You mentioned weight, and I think it's worth considering. I really like having a giant chunk of aluminum vs iron up front. You can go with a decent set of pistons in the LS1 and all new bearings and probably be fine if the block isn't hurt.

Yeah I like the aluminum better also but my block is a 98 so from what I've read I can do much with it if it's damaged. I kinda feel I Should be used it but oh well. More torque should keep me happy.

Well guys, long story short... I went with the 5.7 lol. Used Wiseco forged pistons and Ls3 floating rods in it. Also got rockers with the trunion upgrade at a good deal so put those in also. With the prc stage 1 243s and found a smoking deal on a fast 90. Got a 92 mm TB in another good deal also...
Honestly, with all that I expected I little more out of it but we'll blame it on the heavy ls7 clutch set up along with a steel drive shaft and the giant 12 bolt.
car made 431hp/ 394 tq.
a trip to the track will tell a better story but overall I'm happy. I'll try to post a dyno graph also.

Not bad numbers. I agree the track will be a much better indicator of its true power
