Default 5.7or 6.0 or 6.2

Has anyone used about the same cam, heads, intake etc.from one size motor in the other and know how much ET difference there is from changing motor size?I already have a 5.7 but was wondering if I should sell it and get more cubes.

I used the same HCI from my 5.7 on my 6.0. Other than a little more torque it's essentially the same

Darth no dought I'm going to miss the torque of the 455 but I drive the car a bunch and 5 mpg. just isn't any fun.I have several olds with a 455 so I can just drive one of them when I get to missing the torque.LS is new to me so I have a lot of questions. My 99 WS6 is my first LS car.I really wanted to put a factory S/C on it but I would probably be in way over my head, and you guy's would be sick of me bothering you with all my dumb questions.

Lol. I was just being a ****. Personally I would do a LS2 bottom end so you stay aluminum and also do not have to swap reluctors

I guess I forgot all the details. The motor is going in a 1970 olds 442. I bought a 2000 z28 with 83,000 miles on it but I could sell it, if it I would be better off with a 6.0 or a 6.2. I was going to use the wiring harness, ecm, brakes, fans, trans, motor off the car for my olds.

You will spend more time and effort getting the power train in the olds and getting it running than you think. My advice is to get it in the car and running. Everything will work together, no question marks.

Then, swapping out the bottom end will be lots easier, because everything will bolt up properly. And you won't introduce a bunch of variables.

The Ls1 makes very different torque and power than the old 350. I can't remember where I saw this but the Ls1 trans am outran the SD455 trans am by a couple tenths in the quarter mile. And 83k on a Ls1 is nothing.

You do the swap as is, long tube headers, ls6 intake, and I think you'll be quite happy with the car. Anyway, best of luck.

ere is the rest of the puzzle . I will still have to have it run hard and have a good thump to it so I will either put the stuff I bought for the WS6 or buy another setup for it.I have a 228R cam, LS7 lifter, 243 heads which I was going to send to TSP for port work but the post office wanted almost $100 to ship so I haven't decided on that, and the rest of the stuff from WS6 store. Does the 2000 Camaro have the LS6 intake or LS1?I haven't put that stuff in the WS6 because I have been busy[and kinda lazy].I also bought a edge 3600 stall and the olds has a 4;10 rearend.

The 2000 Camaro LS1 still has the LS1 intake. LS6 intake showed up the next year.

G Atsma thanks. Can you tell me the cheapest route to go on a intake[HP per dollar].summit has one of there intakes, fuel rails, and throttle body's for 550 or bare for 380 and get a war throttle body. The sniper is on sale for 500 but don't know how it compares to the summit.I don't remember the prices on the rest of the intakes.I was looking for a good buy on a fast but I don't stay online enough to get the good deals.I also have a 09 truck intake complete with rails and all f it will fit under my hood.

If you want a new LS6 intake for a great price check into the Dorman LS6 replica manifold. Works very well and available anywhere. Check with WS6store, a sponsor here for great prices and service.

You should be able to find a genuine ls6 intake used for the price of the dorman. The dorman has a lot of weird extra material and mismatches in the runners that needs to be cleaned up if you expect it to flow nicely. If you have a dremel with an extension it’s not too big of a deal, but still a lot of work.

Ls6 intakes around here go for around 300.
Or you may get lucky and find a fast 90 or 92 cheap in your area.
