Default Titan 4 in the block!!

Hey everybody, last night I got the Titan 4 into the block, and the retainer plate on!! No matter how I tried, I couldn't get 4 lifters to stay up, spun that cam a hundred times, and 4 kept sitting back on the lobe, so being an electrician, I used #4 wire in lieu of dowels. it worked really well, I thought. I also bought a length of running thread on eBay to pull the balancer back on, I didn't like the idea of using the old balancer bolt and relying on 3or 4 threads to pull it on, the last thing I want at this point is bunged threads in the crank snout, I realize they can be chased, but for $17, why risk it. Sunday is the day for reassembly provided the Minnesota cold doesn't make it too uncomfortable, I'm not a hero, if I have to, I'll wait for warmer days.

I don't no where people started pulling on the balancer with the stock bolt. That is really bad info that is floating around from ls1howto that is bad advice. Many have messed up there crank threads that way. I like the MacGyver with the #4 wire.

I had it tuned originally by Hi-Tech m.s. in Elk river, and was happy with the tune. Thanks for the offer, good to know there are local LS people.

The #4 wire idea came out of desperation, as I had snapped BOTH wood dowels I had picked up for the purpose!! I looked around the garage, and there was my rabbit barrel with a piece of #4 that looked to be the right size, it worked much better than I would have thought, as sometimes my brainstorms turn to shitstorms!!!
