Default 5.3 truck

I have a 02 silverado with a 5.3 with the xr275 cam with bolt ons and a fti 3200-3400 torque converter and i recently bought a set of 243 heads of a 08 5.3 along with the intake with injectors and fuel rails and im slapping on a 92mm tb on it. But would it work if i just port the exhaust port on the head instead of the whole head since of the D shaped exhuast port
please lmk if you guys can if it'll improve performance

You don't need to port it because it's a D. Leave it.

I'm really not sure what you're asking.

It seems like you're asking if you need to port it because it has D shaped exhaust ports

I would port the intake and exhaust or not at all. If I had to choose one side to do I would do the intake side.

I wanted to port out the heads but i dont know anyone near me who will port them out so I was thinking about porting out the D shaped port myself at home. what I wanted to know if it'll affect its performance of it

Dont port. at all. mill .012-.018 off and get a good valve job and thats it. No need to waste time for minimal gains.

Oh ok cause they had told me to shave them down .30mills cause of the low compression of the 5.3

.030 is too much imo. .018-.020will give you roughly 61cc or so. Thats enough for good pump gas.

Ok and what's the original cc of the 706 heads cause they told to shave them down .30mills so I could get the same compression as the 706 does

Cutting too much off the chamber will effect flow also.
706 heads are about 61cc
