Default Mystery galley

Can anyone identify the threaded hole (oil galley?) found in the picture I've attached? What's it used for? (This is a 2000 5.7 LS1)

Its an access to the main oil feed that goes to the filter. If you pour oil in there it will prime a dry oil pump. Or you can use it as an unfiltered pressure port.
