SF bay area LS builder?
Last week my lq9 w243's starting showing 8psi oil pressure at idle and it's time to freshen up the short block. Any suggestions for engine builders who specialize in LS here in the bay area? I saw some old threads but I'm interested to know who everyone is going to these days.
Daves in Newark And California Street Machines in Fairfield have come up several times in old searches.
Thanks!
Greg

Paul did a great job on my short block and was VERY reasonable on price. He has downsized his shop a lot in the past 5 years. He's actually a one man show now and there is no sign out front. For a simple or stock rebuild I highly recommend him. For the more advanced builds I suggest looking to some other builders that are more up to speed on all the newer technology.

UPDATE-
I had to go through another short block for a different project and ended up at Joe's Engine Shop in Concord. They did a great job for a super fair price. The owner is Clay and he's an ex racer. He understood my requests and built accordingly.

If he does a good job for a fair price, I would say 70 miles one way is not a bad distance to go 2 or 3 times. If a good engine results, you will forget the distance.
