No. Purchased them new from Texas Speed today. I was looking at spending around $1200 on the 5.3 heads after shipping and having 3 damaged exhaust manifold bolt holes helicoiled. Got the 225's for $1780 with sodium filled valves, minus valve springs as I already have a BTR kit.

Gotcha. I don't hear a lot on those heads, but what I do hear is generally positive.

Deciding factors were they flow slightly better than the stage 2.5's, come with 62cc chambers off the shelf and more room to grow if I ever wanted to have them ported.

Well maybe this weekend. Just got a shipment notification that they're arriving Friday.

I'll street tune it myself then put it on the dyno for the final dial in.

I will list the parts I have already purchased first, followed by the remaining parts i'm leaning towards purchasing second. Any input is welcomed. Thanks.

Purchased

BTR .660 springs
BTR trunion kit
PRC as cast 225's
Tick Polluter Cam .635/615 239/244 112
Morel 6504 lifters
Melling 10296 high pressure oil pump
LS2 timing chain
SLP 25% UD harmonic balancer
ARP balancer bolt
ARP head bolts
all new GM gaskets

Parts to be purchased?

Chromoly pushrods
Fast 92 intake
Nick Williams 92mm tb
Racetronix 255 w/ hotwire kit
Deatchwerks 42lb injectors

You might want to get the Melling 10295, the 10296 might suck your pan dry.

The 10295 is 10psi over stock pressure. I've been using them for years.

Oops. Made a typo on the part #. Yeah, I don't want the high volume, just the high pressure.

You might want to re think the SLP 25% under drive pulley I had one on mine and I spent several years and thousands of dollars trying to figure why my knock sensors were pulling timing out at higher RPM! Went back to stock Harmonic Balancer and all was well JUNK Parts
