Heads for cam. 2000 ws6. Have a small valvetrain failure. Lifter let go. Figured going to need a new cam and valvetrain anyway. Had a small cam xr275hr Got a sns 3 cam kit with all the goodies and from what was just going to be a cam and lifter swap to get this car running again has now turned to me searching for intakes and heads and throttle bodies and bottom ends..anyway my dilemma is I planned on the stage 1 ls6 heads from PRC they are budget friendly and put out decent numbers however I was told they didn’t have ls6 castings anymore. So with this cam (235/243 .630"/.610" LSA111+2) would the stage 1 5.3 prc heads be okay? Would it be best to just find a set of ls6 heads? And also will I have issues with PTV clearance on the 5.3 heads? I know this cam is neck and neck with the ms3 but I have just a bit more lift, will this cause me problems? Also one more question on this drawn out post, anyone ever have any personal dealings with the Thompson Motorsport cnc’d heads?

From what I know, they only offer a Stage 2.5 for the small-valve Gen III truck heads, as the OEM valves are too small to use with Stage I. They only offer Stage I on heads with 2.00 or better OEM valves.
The main difference between the two stages is Stage I uses OEM valves, and 2.5 uses larger (but not by much) 2.02 valves.
