It will def sound cool at idle!
It all depends on ptv if i gotta fly cut the heads are going to get milled if not they will stay the way they are

Plan is for it to go in saturday I have all supporting mods hand ported 799s, 3.73 rear 10 bolt, will get more gear when that lets go. 6 speed car. What do you guys think I should get power wise. This is not a DD
I have a very similar cam in my nitrous motor. That cam would be very tough to drive in a manual car. Mine was designed to make power from 5k to 7500 on the juice. It barely runs below 2800. Will be a super cool sounding cam.

Won't make great power but will be fun in a stock motor. FYI I burned 5gallons of e85 in about 2 hours of idle tuning lol.

If you're staying with stock(ish) compression ratio, then I'd say your power will be less than a couple of the smaller cams you already tried.....especially below 4000 RPMs.

Curious why you would want to flycut and weaken the pistons just for an experiment, which later you plan on going FI? I wouldn't want to do anything to weaken the stock bottom end when going to an FI setup.

What are the spec’s On the Howard’s Cam? From my personal experience you are not gonna go any faster and actually will go slower. You might make a few more peak power tho. I’d say it will make around 440whp depending on dyno.

I had a 234/242 Cam and went to a trex style 242/248 and lost a tenth on 11.2 to 1 compression with the best 243’s and Mamo 102 and a MaMo MSD. If I had more compression and tighter quench the bigger Cam would have been great.

Area under the curve over the intended RPM range wins races, not peak numbers. Look at the honda stuff. A 600hp honda can get waxed by a 450hp Fbody cause a good area under the curve will pull on a honda that makes 600hp for a split second and is a dog elsewhere.

So I got a little update for you guys. car is running and driving. still working on the tune havent had much time to play with it lately was able to run it a little pulls alot harder then my old cam after 3000 through 6000 (Not pushing it yet till tune is 100%) but blows tires off through 1st and 2nd. Dont have a clue how to post a video up on here. Had a little ptv issues but nothing a little home flycuttin couldn't handle. Didnt bother with the heads machine shop was backed up and 2 weeks out from milling my heads. But so far it pulls a hell of a lot harder then old cam.
