Plan is for it to go in saturday I have all supporting mods hand ported 799s, 3.73 rear 10 bolt, will get more gear when that lets go. 6 speed car. What do you guys think I should get power wise. This is not a DD

Ok if you don't mind going through the process to make sure it clears then that's your choice. That cam will be a dog down low on your setup with just power at the very top end. A proper sized cam on the same setup would outperform it. You do realize this right?

Being every cam should be checked before being installed for ptv is no trouble. How are you so sure that a smaller cam will out run it. just askin. It has been proven before that big cams make big power good track times. What part about that cam and my setup will not work right together. I'm not scared to turn 7000rpms

It's been shown time and time again what cans perform best on these motors, anything that's significantly out of that range has been proven to be slower. Don't take my word for it. Search around and you'll see. Not trying to be harsh and whatnot, but rather trying to help you from making a big mistake

Ok well already got the cam on the way it doesn't cost anything but time to install worst that could happen i don't like i put my old cam back in. Its only money lol. I like to try different things not copy everyone else so far it's working last cam made 400hp 392tq at wheels got this cam pretty cheap. This cam was specd to be in a ls1 as a max effort cam and ran low 10s

My opinion ,of this cam, is pretty much right with the others in this thread. Basically that a cam, not as big, would make at least, or more, average power in that rpm range. Bet that thing would want more than 7k. No cam designer here but I would think about a single plain with that cam maybe? Also thought of the 4.56 rear gears.
Only one way to find out.

I am curious how this goes but I think you are going to be disappointed unless you run it 12:1 compression. I really think that for max effort on a 346, 237-242 intake and 242-246 exhaust is the best spot. Look at the top performing 346s and that is what they run.
It will def sound cool at idle!
