Default Ticking after warm up.

Haven't posted in awhile, got my car done last year finally, been running great. Only thing i had a temp sensor go bad and cook my plugs. Replaced sensor and new plugs and been running great. Anyways have noticed if i let car idle for awhile, it will develop a tick that gets pretty loud. If i rev it up it will go away, if i drive it, it will go away. I do have a constant light ticking while driving but i just chalk that up as being an ls. Anyways, its driver side. Replaced header gasket, no help, oil is good and fresh, car runs amazing. Im just lost. I do have a teeny tiny exhaust leak at collector just wouldn't think it would be that. One thing that makes me nervous is the shop that built it put way to short of push rods in. Got that fixed pretty soon after running it so idk if that could have anything to do with it. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If it's a single tick it might be a lifter collapsing. How is your idle oil pressure?

Could be aggressive cam lobes or slightly goofy oil pump pickup tube O ring
Sometimes European 0W40 oil helps Lessen the LS rocker arm noise

Hoping not a lifter. Those are brand new as well. Morel 5315's. Oil pressure is a solid tick over 60 on start up and driving. Once warm it never gets below 40. I run amsoil 5w30, maybe i will try their 0w40. Don't think it would hurt anything?

Also the plunger (pre-load) is a smaller tighter window with the 5215s. Most shoot for .050”-.070” if I remember Correctly
The block deck grows a bit and lessens the preload somewhere around .010”
So that does change between room temp and operating temp
Most LS7 Delphi lifters can function anywhere between .050”-.120”-ish. Don’t quote me on that however it’s a much more forgiving window

I gotcha. Whenever we got the car tuned on start up it just wasnt sounding right to me. Hardly any lope, lots of valve train noise which i thought was weird since i have the straub bushing kit. Anyways i pulled the valve covers once it was at operating temp. I had so much play in the rockers. Borrowed a push rod checker and also just for ***** and giggles had a feeler gauge in between the rocker and valve stem. Everything backed up. Was basically at zero lash. The guy put 7.3" push rods in. After doing the calculations and what not i ended up with 7.375". Valve train is completely silent its just once warm that annoying tick comes up.
