Default Another 243/788 head on Lq4 question

Started my Lq4 build and am planning on heads to increase CR. I have read and searched a lot of posts but have come up with one question. I have a 2001 Lq4 and most heads I'm finding are 2006-2007. I have read somewhere that the head bolt sizes changed in 2004, how will that affect my swap and if it works do I buy bolts for the new heads or 2001 block?

The head bolt LENGTH changed then, and that is BLOCK-related. Has nothing to do with the heads. The older ones used 2 longer bolts and the rest short bolts per side. This changed to all short bolts. The diameter never changed, if that's what concerns you.
And BTW, the other head is 799, not 788.
