Default Inputs on H/C/I package instead of just heads and intake.

Long story short, I don't know the specs of my cam, so I am looking for inputs on where to send my 243 heads and get matched heads, intake, cam, and valvetrain.

Since I am getting a new cam, P2V is no longer an issue, so I can get bigger valves and/or have the heads milled more for higher compression.

So, my main question is larger valves vs more compression... which is better for 1/4 mile times on a daily driven LS1?

Larger valves will likely be TEA stage 2 heads.
More compression will likely be AI 226cc heads, maybe TEA stage 1.

Just do both. I know texas speed can put the larger valves in the 243/799's with a complete CNC valve and port job and can mill to your specs.

I was leaning torward AI, and since I am going flex fuel, my tuner recommended going with higher compression. So, I am going to see what high compression heads and cam specs can be done.

Texas speed doesn't port intakes. I want heads and intake ported by the same shop, preferably port matched.

We'd be thrilled to port your intake, heads, and even spec out a cam for you. Give us a call, e-mail, or msg us on Facebook.

I am trying to figure out if there is a "sweet spot" between 243s compression and cam. i.e. 10.6:1 and a 230ish cam vs 11.1:1 and a 220ish cam.
