LQ4/LQ9 Power

LQ4/LQ9 Power
Hi guys, after 180k on my 01 6.0 2500HD and 16 years of abuse, I one day lost compression while driving. Found out that I had a cracked piston and eventually a chunk of the piston shot out the exhaust. My question is what you guys think the power will be after my build, really shooting for at least 450rwhp on stock 245/75/16’s. Truck is a daily driver that will occasionally see the strip.

Probably going to be closer to 400 to the tire than 450 if you want 450 through I'm assuming an automatic transmission and heavy duty drivetrain you're going to want a bigger cam and at least a decent valve job and bowl work on the heads. Or you could leave that set up and put some nitrous through it for well over 450 on your track days.

Personally I think your going about it a little bit wrong. I would stroke it to a 408 and run a little bit of a smaller cam to keep the powerband lower. This is a 6500 lbs truck not a 4000 lbs Camaro.

Good call on the 243 heads, headers and TBSS intake. Going to that myself on my 2500 suburban. While you got it apart do the stroker kit to 408, and I would highly recommend the BTR Stage 3 truck cam. I'm still on the stock converter and it is a great daily driver. It is minimal cost to do the 408 at this point and will make the most difference of all the mods.
