Speedmaster head studs won’t thread into the block!? Ugh

Not necessarily true. In this case, we are comparing an OEM bolt which is tightened to it’s yield point. If you tighten the nut on a stud to the same torque value that causes the bolt to yield, then the stud could stretch just beyond yield where the clamp load would be less.

Science = Witness Paper
HI All, I have tested Head Lift for Felpo on a Quad Four (turbo)
We found their TTY bolts SUPPLIED with their gasket were of an incorrect spec.
At that time we used "witness paper"
THUS I state a test method : Find a LS crankcase (damaged=OK), find two heads, fit ONE side with the GM TTL Bolts AND the other side with studs, place the Pressure Paper on each gasket, install torque each side, heat the crankcase (boil-out tank = OK), let cool then read the paper for pressure reported.
Who can add to the method, what did I miss ?
I could ask Adam (Wiks Racing Engines) to do this type of test ?
