Leaking Antifreeze :*(
Ok, I'm no mechanic so I was hoping someone here can give me some pointers or could tell me what a common problem is and I could check it.
I have a 99 Trans AM WS.6 with 55,000 miles on it. It leaks antifreeze once in awhile then stops. It leaked some on my garage floor last week and hasn't done it again until today. The puddle is by the right front tire. I jacked it up and looked up under it and couldn't find where it was leaking from. Anyone know what would be the most likely thing causing the leak? Any help is appreciated.

Possible water pump, typically they start to drip out the weep hole for a while then they let go. Take your belt off and turn the pulley on the water pump, see if it turns hard or extra loose
Thats my two cents.

It's the water pump, it only leaks after you drive and then stop because after you shut down pressure builds in the system. Drive the car and then shut it off then look at the overflow bottle, if it doesn't leak from the top of the bottle then it's the water pump. My car already had to replace the water pump and it only had 10,000 miles at the time. If the coolant is being pushed out of the over-flow tank, don't rule out a headgasket. You can also go to AutoZone and rent a Cooling System Pressure Tester. It will pressurize the cooling system, which might help you find out where the coolant is leaking from, which can help determine the cause.
