Default Different Stroke length on 5.3 to achieve lower compression

Just a quick question idk if y'all know the awsner, I got a 5.3 LS and was wondering if I can make the stroke length about 3.400inch; this is in-between the 4.8L and 5.3L lenght and should achieve a engine displacement of about 5.0. Would this work, or is there an easier way to make this happen? I'm open to any suggestions or tips, this will be my first engine build but I'm looking forward to it!!

This will have a turbo in the future

Yeah but you're going to waste a lot of money to do it.

To say the least! lol
Pull the heads and either use a thicker gasket or open the chambers a bit. Or both. WAY cheaper than a new bottom end!

You can put 5.3 rods in a 4.8 and get ~5.45:1 compression.

Go for it.

Bore the 4.8 to ls1 size and make a 5.0ish liter.
Trying to be different just to be different does have its limits.
We are going to be testing a 5.1l soon (hopefully) built with our own parts....and maybe a finger or toe if we dont watch out.

do you want to lower your static compression to be turbo friendly ? you can use a cam with the right timing events to lower your dynamic compression

If you want to make a 5.0 because you want to make a 5.0 then there's a far easier and cheaper way, do it through bore size.

How low on compression are you wanting to go? A lot of people starting out want 8.x:1 and end up hating it.

Are you trying to be different and spend as much money as possible or are you just trying to lower compression?
