Default lq9 with 243 head question
I have a LQ9 in my 72 chevelle with the stock 317 heads truck intake 1 3/4 long tube headers and a 222/226 586/569 114+2 MSD cam. would a set of 243 heads that are ported and polished work well with this combo? Has a 2004R trans. with a 2800 stal and 4:10 gears. Right now doing 370 hp 385 ft on the dyno. any thoughts are appreciated.

The 243's are a good choice. I run PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads on my LQ9, and for their cost I'm happy with them

Yes they would, and you would be right around 11:1 compression.

Yes. DCR should right at 8.5. Perfect for pump gas and you should make a ton of torque. I'd ask Frankenstein or TEA about what they would recommend you do to the heads. How often will this see the track?

Make sure and check if they have been milled and if they have see how much so you can see where you'll land compression wise.

They have been cleaned up and just milled 3 thousandths to make sure they are flat,
will i be able to drive it to the tuner after changing heads?
