When he ground it and sent it to me...I have to admit, I thought he screwed up and sent me a LS3 cam...lol.

not quite 20. Close though, I never got to try it out as we spun rod bearings on dyno.
after repairing it, I put in a s10 that got sold before I finished it and he went 9.75 in it with a 5500 stall 4.10 gear combination. It worked well. 347 c.i 11.8 compression and ported 5.3 heads

Sounds like an awesome build....amazing how well these little LS's run with a sorted combo.

Geoff really does know **** when it comes to manipulating some valve timing. The cam before this was great...but he and I talked...I told him I wanted more average power per gear change. In a nutshell that means we needed to flatten the curve for more average power under the curve....especially in a T56 car !! And IMO, he delivered.
Auto can get away with a peakier curve...but that seems to slow the manual car down.

It's not apples to apples...but I technically lost "peak power" but made more per gear change. Thus, the car gained mph.

Thanks...

This is great to read about. It's great to show what kind of numbers an NA ls1/6 can put up with a proper combination of parts and planning with all sorts of gen IV and V setups out there nowadays. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the complements....

10-4 on the stock rocker deal....Speedtiger (iirc) and i had a conversation about it a few years ago here on the board.

In my personal opinion my setup in better for many reasons....that's why i didn't go that route. Didn't feel there is any performance gain over what I'm running...not to mention triple the price and complexity.

I'm a big fan of K.I.S.S.

But a back to back test would be a very cool idea.

Awesome build. This was the route I want to go with my 04 C5Z, 500 rwhp in a 3,200 lb weekend car sounds like a good time.
