5.3 ls knock sensors Plan on building a 11 to 1 compression ratio 5.3 and wondering will there be to much internal vibration from the engine firing with that high compression that the knock sensors wont be accurate enough and think it is knocking because of the vibrations and retard the timing. If so is there aftermarket ones for this purpose. Thanks
They should be fine as long as they are good knock sensors. Ive seen them go bad and act crazy and pull timing. Usually it comes down to a good tune with coorrect spark advance. With tht much compression timing will usually be lower than a 10:1 engine.

Alright, yea I have had that happen to me as well couple of times on some Silverado's. The knock sensor would go crazy when I'm done with my tuning, even added higher octane fuel and I manually retarded the timing while driving at it still says it was knocking, retarding it so much that I just increased the sensitivity in the sensors to make it stop until I get new ones. So I figured bad knock sensors. It happens a lot on older Silverado's I tuned so was just wondering would I have this problem on high compression. So ill just make sure I buy new and good sensors, But

I wouldn't know for sure about a good brand, I'm just going to buy right from a GM dealer. Cant go wrong with a direct replacement straight from manufacturer and see what happens I guess. unless anybody else has some experience with buying knock sensors.
