Default Is break in oil necessary after new bearings?

Is it necessary to use break in oil in my engine after getting the cylinders honed, crank polished and new main, rod and crank bearings?

In my experience no, it’s not necessary. Plenty of people will argue that it should be done though.

I've never ran it for bearings and never had an issue. I vote no.

KCS,
Do you recommend using Break in oil for any new builds or specific new parts that have been installed?

The Benefit of Break in Oil is 99% for NEW Piston Rings & Freshly Honed/Finished Cylinder Bores.

and flat rappet cams which are Not Applicable in LS Engines

Personally I’d run it for the new hone/ring relief. Necessary? Debatable. A new hone brings some dirt and debris, no matter how carefully you wash and scrub the cylinders, due to ring friction as the rings take a seat.
Id dump it after a few short runs to get the junk out of my crankcase.
