Default Crank shaft turning.

I just installed my crank shaft and it spins pretty easy a little tight but I don't feel any tight spots in it when i spin it slowly. But when I spin it fast with my hand it keeps going like half and inch to an inch then stops. Should it keep spinning till it stops on its own or should it keep spinning and slow steadily? Also i can hear the assembly lube cracking and stuff when I spin it like its a little tacky. Is all this normal? Seems to be fine to me but I figured id ask.

If you know your clearances are good, once your lube is there and it feels good with no odd tight spots, you should be good to go. Make sure to pressure lube it before starting, and change the oil about 20 min after you get it started to get the assembly lube out of the oil and filter. Cut apart that filter and inspect as well as the next few at least just to be safe.

The assembly lube makes it feel tight; its just because most of those lubes are viscous and kind of tacky. I don’t like them for that reason. I like to use a low weight oil so I can feel for any lthing weird.

I spun it really slow and had my friend check it to and neither of is could feel anything. Do my clearances look pretty good nothong over .020 and nothing under .018. Seems they are good machine shop so and from what I read they are.

Do you mean .0020” and .0018”? That would be fine for a mild street car engine with no power adders.
